Professor of Macroeconomics
Brief description
Macroeconomics deals with the performance, structure, and behavior of the economy as a whole. Macroeconomists study and seek to understand the determinants of aggregate trends in the economy with particular focus on national income, unemployment, inflation, investment, and international trade. The focus is on macroeconomic theories, which are used to derive explanations and recommendations for economic policy.
Teaching
Besides our compulsory core course Macroeconomics at the Bachelor level, we regularly offer courses in Growth and Development Theory, International Trade Theory, Empirical International Trade, Economics of Terrorism and Empirical Development Economics. Moreover, seminars are offered for Bachelor and Master students covering current topics in the field. Most teaching material is available in English. Some courses are taught in English.
