Subject
The work of the Institute of Economic Policy focuses on quantitative empirical analyses of questions pertaining to economic policy. The work of the Center for Economic Policy Studies (CWS), associated with the institute, contributes to this objective.

The institute furthermore offers lectures and seminars with a methodological focus, which cover empirical research in economics and the foundations of econometrics. In addition to this, the institute offers a seminar on the practice of business consulting in cooperation with the Dirk Rossmann GmbH.
Research
Research at the institute is based on the combination of theoretical approaches with state-of-the-art econometric techniques of causal analysis using comprehensive data sets. Current research projects deal with the education system, the labour market, the higher education and science system, the housing market, the transformation of the economy towards climate neutrality and the economics of crime.
